Art to Grow On volunteers should register with LAUSD. It only takes a couple of minutes to complete the application.

If you plan to work with the kids you also need to get a TB test. The test is covered by most insurance policies. But if yours doesn't, the PTA will pay for the test.

Every two years, ten projects are selected from submittals by local artists.

Each project is presented at a Docent Workshop, in which the artist teaches the docents (parent-volunteers) how to create, and then how to teach the project to the kids. The Artist also provides a detailed lesson plan.

Make sure you introduce yourself to all adult helpers. Thank them for coming. Show that you are happy they came to the tent! Find out how they'd like to be introduced to the children. (e.g. Mrs Smith? Miss Maria?)
