Tent Raising this Saturday (Sept 10th)

Post by Admin on Tue Sep 06, 2016 2:51 pm

We’ll start work at 7:00 AM this Saturday (Sept. 10th) morning. I expect the project to take the full day.

For those that don’t know, the tent will be located on the lower playground (left side of the school).

Our principal, Mrs. Manzano has agreed to open the school and be onsite while we raise the tent.

The tent will measure 22 feet wide, by 32 feet long, by 11 feet tall. An assembly manual is attached for reference.

There are several pieces of equipment that we’ll need.

• Cordless drills with hex-nut attachments (we’ll need a few drills and extra batteries, so even if you don’t have the hex, we can still use the drill)
• Ladders, 8 to 10 feet. We can use two or three
• Rubber mallet
• Sledge Hammer (big)
• Socket sets or wrenches (imperial)
• Crescent wrenches
• Carpet knife
• Several large Tupperware containers for sorting screws, nuts, etc.
• Knee pads or gardening cushions

• E-Z Up style shades

• Snacks
• Water
• Ice
• Ice Chest
• Camera/photographer to document the process.

Please let me know if you can bring any of the above items.

At this point, the weather forecast looks great. Temperature will be in the high seventies, but sunny. There’s no shade where we’ll be working, so be prepared.

For safety, wear closed toe shoes.

Please send me an email to confirm that you’re coming, the hours you’re available, and what you can bring.

If you have any questions or advice, please feel free to contact me.

Again, thank you in advance for participating.
